Run out of material slots 3ds max

hi, i made an animation of a spaceship taking off in 3ds max but i don't know how to turn it into a video (avi,wmv etc.) or add textures to it. i have all of the pictures to use as textures but i don't know how to put them onto the different parts of the ship. if you can help me out with both problems i couldn't thank you enough.
